This Privacy Policy explains how FreshPlan collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when users access the app, website, and support channels. Questions can be sent through Contact Support.
1. Scope and controller
This policy applies to FreshPlan digital services and related support operations. The service operator acts as the data controller for personal information processed to provide FreshPlan.
2. Information we collect
- Account information such as email address, sign-in provider, and guest/anonymous account identifiers.
- User-entered pantry, shopping list, receipt, planning, and preference data.
- Camera, barcode, OCR, image, and scan-related content used to power scanning features.
- Shared recipe content submitted for community use, including attribution fields.
- Subscription and entitlement status from app store and subscription providers.
- Advertising, device, app, diagnostics, usage, and security telemetry.
- Notification settings, reminder preferences, and referral/promotion participation records.
- Rights-holder complaint, content moderation, and enforcement records related to shared content.

- Legal consent records (terms/privacy version, acceptance status, timestamp, and source).
3. Sources of data
Information is collected directly from users, automatically from app interactions and devices, and from service providers supporting authentication, storage, billing, analytics, messaging, and security.
4. Purposes of processing
- To provide pantry tracking, shopping list, barcode scanning, and meal-planning features.
- To provide, rank, display, and moderate shared recipe content.
- To authenticate users and administer account security.
- To record and enforce legal consent requirements.
- To process subscriptions, access controls, and restore purchases.
- To deliver or measure ads, promotions, referral programs, and free/premium eligibility.
- To send or schedule local reminders and store notification preferences.
- To review infringement complaints, process takedown/counter-notice workflows, and enforce repeat-violation policies.
- To monitor performance, reliability, abuse prevention, and fraud detection.
- To respond to support, legal, privacy, and rights requests.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on location, processing may rely on contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent. For users in jurisdictions requiring consent for specific activities, such activities are handled consistent with applicable law.
6. Sharing and disclosure
FreshPlan may share personal information with trusted processors and infrastructure providers that support app operations (for example identity/auth, cloud hosting, analytics, advertising, subscriptions, communication, AI/OCR processing, and security). Data may also be disclosed where legally required, to enforce rights, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, or protect users and the public.
7. No sale of personal information
FreshPlan does not sell personal information. Where required by law, users may submit requests concerning sharing/processing preferences through Contact Support.
8. International transfers
Data may be processed in countries different from your home jurisdiction. Where required, FreshPlan uses appropriate transfer safeguards consistent with applicable law.
9. Data retention
Data is retained only as long as needed for service operation, account management, legal compliance, fraud prevention, security, billing, promotions administration, and dispute resolution. Retention periods may vary by data category and legal requirement.
10. Security
FreshPlan uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
11. User rights and choices
Depending on law, users may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent. Users may also request account deletion, and some deletion options may be available directly in the app. Rights requests can be submitted through Contact Support.
12. Children and age limits
FreshPlan is not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law. If FreshPlan becomes aware of unauthorized collection from a child, data will be deleted as required.
13. Automated decisions and AI outputs
FreshPlan may use automated systems and AI features to provide suggestions and app functionality. Outputs are informational and may be inaccurate. Users remain responsible for decisions made using app outputs.
14. Third-party services and external links
FreshPlan may link to or integrate with third-party services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. FreshPlan is not responsible for third-party privacy or security practices.
15. Advertising and platform permissions
FreshPlan may use advertising and analytics technologies to support app operations and measure performance. On supported Apple platforms, the app may request tracking-related permissions where required by law. Users can manage certain permissions through device settings.
16. Payment and subscription privacy
Purchases are processed by app store and billing providers. FreshPlan may receive subscription status, product, and entitlement metadata but does not receive full payment card numbers.
17. Policy updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Material changes are reflected by updating the date above and, where required, through additional notice and/or renewed acceptance.
